Forthcoming museums

The tour route that will be proposed in the facilitated guides is analysed and defined, with particular attention to the presence of cognitive and/or sensory barriers that may hinder the visit. Together with museum staff, the rooms and spaces that will be presented in the guidebook are identified.

At this stage, the cards that will make up the guide are written in facilitated language (in Easy to read and with Augmentative Alternative Communication symbols). Within the latter, information about the tour route, historical insights and curiosities are presented.

Validation involves the direct involvement of people with intellectual disabilities (belonging to associations in the area surrounding the museum) in verifying the comprehensibility and usability of the texts drafted by the Museum for All team. In light of the feedback received, the texts are corrected and refined.

From the moment the Italian version of the texts is the final one, the eventual English translation of the guide in Easy to read is also started.

The Museum for All team and the museum organize a presentation event according to different modalities (from press conference to guided tour to meetings with schools) aimed at publicly presenting the pathway implemented and making the initiative known to all.
